Go Glamping with a Purpose at Cheekye Ranch

Ready for a unique glamping adventure that serves a noble cause? Welcome to Cheekye Ranch, a serene paradise located in the heart of Squamish, British Columbia.

Cheekye Ranch: A Fusion of Luxury Camping and Horse Rescue

Hidden away on a 70-acre property, the ranch is home to nearly a hundred rescued horses. This extraordinary sanctuary not only offers a luxury camping experience but also champions the noble cause of horse rescue.

The owner and operator of Cheekye Ranch & Second Chance Cheekye Ranch (SCCR), Kris Latham, is the heart and soul of the operation. Kris’s amazing childhood enabled her to be exposed to animals from an early age, living in Africa, South America, USA and from coast to coast in Canada. She was always surrounded by animals and even managed to bring some of them home. Her first horse was rescued in Newfoundland at the age of 12!

With a Diploma from Guelph University in Horticulture Design, Environmental Resource Studies at Trent University and a Master Organic Gardener Seal she combined her love of the outdoors and nature to start her own landscaping business, in 1998. She retired the Landscape business after 25yrs in 2023 to focus on the Ranch activities and the Equines in her care. Her love of animals is endless and in 2016 Second Chance Cheekye Ranch was born. She manages all aspects of the non-profit organization along with dedicated board members and amazing volunteers.

At the helm of the ranch's operations is Mandy, an expert in tourism and events, who fosters growth and opportunities at the ranch. The Cheekye Ranch business model, unique in its kind, brilliantly combines the thrill of glamping with a mission to provide a haven for horses. From the charming Cheekye Ranch to the compassionate Second Chance Cheekye Ranch, this sanctuary offers glampers an unforgettable experience.

Glamping at Cheekye Ranch

From May to mid-October, glampers can retreat to solar-powered yurts that come equipped with modern amenities like running washrooms, showers, and kitchen prep areas. These yurts offer glampers the adventure of camping with the comfort of a cozy bed. Each yurt offers a beautiful riverside view, making the experience even more magical.

In addition to the luxury yurts, Cheekye Ranch also offers glamping yurts for those seeking a more rustic experience. These yurts provide a serene spot for guests to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and connect with nature.

Exploring Cheekye Ranch

The episode also ventures into the beautiful Cheekye Ranch, located in Brackendale, Canada. This ranch serves as a prime destination for outdoor enthusiasts and couples planning their nuptials. It hosts various events and offers an array of amenities, including glamping spots, wedding venues, and spaces for fundraisers. Safety measures are in place to ensure secure interactions with the horses on the property.

Events at Cheekye Ranch

Cheekye Ranch hosts several events throughout the year, including weddings and fundraisers. The ranch also collaborates with Wild Haven glamping for pop-up canvas tents during events. The fundraisers, held twice a year, typically attract around a thousand people, demonstrating strong community support for the ranch.

Connecting with the Horses

Guests are encouraged to book a ranch tour to safely meet and learn more about the horses. While direct interaction with the horses is limited due to safety concerns, the ranch tours provide an opportunity to get up close and learn about the horse rescues.
